SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Our scholarship programme back in 2001 was the GRP/Kalumonan Scholarship fund. The programme was to allow those from the most underprivileged families to graduate at college level. The programme has now expanded to assist High School students as well. At present  there are over twenty students benefiting from the fund. Education is often  the key that opens up new horizons and employment opportunities for those who have came from either poor subsistence in agricultural  or fisher folks backgrounds. Without  college graduation, it is extremely  difficult to find employment  outside of the traditional farming and fishing " industries" which offer little more than a hand to  mouth existence.

F

Norjan has just recently graduated from Davao Oriental State college of Science and Technology, San Isidro Annex in which he studied Agriculture. Norjan will now start as a volunteer with Kalumonan Development Centre and receive a stipend provided by GRP.
